Frequently Asked Questions

We do not bill insurance directly. Most functional medicine services — including advanced testing and extended visit times — are not covered by insurance.

Some supportive care services, such as chiropractic and medical massage, may be covered depending on your plan. To make things easier, we offer free insurance verification so you can understand exactly what services your insurance may apply to before you begin care.

Yes. Most of our services, supplements, and lab tests can be paid for using a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

Your initial consultation lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. This allows us to complete a thorough history, exam, body composition analysis, and determine which testing will provide the most insight into your health.

We use both conventional and advanced functional medicine testing. These may include:

  • Comprehensive stool and microbiome analysis
  • Food sensitivity testing
  • Hormone and thyroid panels
  • Nutrient and metabolic testing
  • Inflammation and immune markers

Each test is recommended based on your unique history and explained in detail before ordering.

Not necessarily. Many patients choose to begin with diet and lifestyle modifications while waiting for test results. However, if your evaluation suggests immediate support, we may recommend a targeted supplement plan that can be adjusted once labs are reviewed.

  • In the beginning, most patients are seen every 6-8 weeks.
  • As your health stabilizes, visits may be spaced every 2–3 months.
  • Many patients choose long-term maintenance check-ins to stay on track.

Yes. We offer secure telehealth appointments for patients who prefer the convenience of meeting from home. Certain in-person assessments (such as body composition) may require an office visit.

We’re happy to review any recent lab work (within the past 6–12 months) as part of your initial evaluation. Standard labs, such as those from a routine physical, are included at no extra cost.

If you’ve had more in-depth functional testing completed elsewhere, an interpretation fee may apply. This will always be discussed with you beforehand, so there are no surprises.

We don’t just treat conditions — we help uncover the root causes of symptoms. Common areas of focus include:

  • Digestive issues (IBS, reflux, bloating)
  • Hormone balance (thyroid, PCOS, menopause)
  • Fatigue, stress, and sleep concerns
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Metabolic and weight issues

Healing timelines vary. Some patients feel improvement within weeks, while others with long-standing issues may need several months of consistent care. Our focus is creating sustainable results, not just quick fixes.

Because functional medicine is highly detailed and individualized, questions are best sent through the patient portal. This allows us to give you the thorough, thoughtful answers your care deserves.

We kindly ask that functional medicine questions not be addressed during chiropractic or supportive care visits, since those appointments are focused on different goals and do not allow for the level of assessment needed to make functional medicine decisions.

Portal messages are a great way to ask quick questions, share updates, or get simple clarifications between visits.

If your concern requires a more detailed response — something that might take a full page to explain — it’s usually best handled in an appointment. That way, we can give your questions the time and attention they deserve without rushing.

Think of portal messaging as a way to stay connected and supported between visits, while appointments give us the space to dive deeper when needed. If we feel your message would be better addressed in a visit, we’ll let you know and help you get scheduled.

Many of our patients come to us after seeing multiple healthcare providers without finding
answers. We often take a broader, more comprehensive approach by looking for connections
between symptoms, lifestyle factors, nutrition, hormones, gut health, and environmental
influences that may have been overlooked.

I believe every patient has a unique story. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I take the
time to listen, identify patterns, and uncover the root causes contributing to health concerns. My
goal is to empower patients with education, personalized recommendations, and a clear path
toward better health.
